SUV OF THE YEAR
Award By International Trade GroupLas Vegas, Nev. - The recently introduced Isuzu Axiom was named the SUV of the Year by the Auto International Association (AIA). At ceremonies during AAPEX (Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo) the Axiom was recognized as "a leading example in the evolution of SUVs."
Henry P. Allessio, managing director of Walden Consultants Ltd., made the announcement for the board of AIA, pointing out "American Isuzu is a trend setter in its recognition that high quality aftermarket service beyond the warranty period can endear customers to a vehicle brand and improve repurchase loyalty." Isuzu is a charter member of AIA's Vehicle Manufacturers Parts Group (VMPG) which fosters market co-existence of original equipment manufacturers and high quality suppliers of aftermarket parts. "Both AIA parts suppliers and VMPG members are fully aware that both business segments are needed to sell all the parts that are consumed during the lifetime of a vehicle. This is a fundamental in the cooperation among AIA member groups," reminded Allessio.
To commemorate the award a striking crystal globe on a walnut base was presented to American Isuzu Motors Inc. and accepted by Chip Letzgus, the company's executive manager of corporate communications.
The Axiom was cited by AIA for "bringing new vitality to the global automotive industry with its well-appointed interior and its ride, handling and performance. The Axiom is "the SUV that looks like no other and offers a wonderful combination of engineering and aesthetic rewards." In addition to recognizing vehicle characteristics of the Axiom, the AIA offered the SUV of the Year every success with cooperative aftermarket support throughout its life cycle.
